Business coaching can help develop their skills and improve their performance. However, as with any effective method, there are also possible side effects that we should recognize and take into account.<\/p>\n
A positive effect of coaching could be that you decide to leave the company after the coaching. For you, this can be a step in the right direction to pursue your career goals. But for the company that funded the coaching, it can be seen as a negative. It is important to consider and reflect on both perspectives.<\/p>\n
It is possible that during coaching, you may temporarily feel your work is less important or deliberately conflict with your supervisor. If you want to change your behaviors on the job, you may experience adjustment difficulties. We need to address these areas of tension.<\/p>\n
As a business coach, it is my job to understand your individual situation, your personality and your role in the organizational context in detail. We clarify the assignment and the goal of the coaching. What is your central theme? What do you want to work on?<\/p>\n
One of the possible “coaching side effects” is that deeper issues come to the surface. For example, you might realize that you don’t just have conflicts with coworkers, but fundamentally have difficulty with authority. This awareness can be temporarily uncomfortable. In such cases, we should look beyond the boundaries of coaching and look for other approaches to solving the problem.<\/p>\n
